Welcome to In the Yarn Garden CAL!
I'm very excited to present my first CAL to you and I hope that you will join me during this project which will end up as a square cushion cover.
You can chose to make the whole cushion cover or only the front side. The front side is a special design by me while the back side is a more common crochet design. The first part of this CAL will be released 1st of July :)
US crochet terms will be used in the english version of this CAL.

MATERIALS AND SIZE
Yarn and colors:
This pattern is designed using the yarn Nova from Järbo Garn which is a sport weight cotton yarn. You can read about the yarn details on the homepage of Järbo Garn here or on Ravelry here.
Since I do not know of any store selling the yarn Nova outside of Sweden I will recommend the yarn Cotton 8 from Scheepjes which resembles the yarn that I have used.Scheepjes Cotton 8 can be bought at Wool Warehouse which are shipping worldwide.
The following list converts the shades of Nova into resembling Cotton 8 shades.
Nova Cotton 8
Natural 501
Pink 718
Coral 719
Yellow 551
Lime 642
Pistage green 664
Khaki green 713
The Nova and Cotton 8 comes in 50 g balls and I have used 7 balls of Nova for my cushion cover (front and back side). There will be some yarn left though so you do not have to think about cutting short ends :).
The whole cushion cover will consume the amount of yarn equal to 5-6 balls of Järbo Nova yarn.
The front side only will consume the amount of yarn equal to 3 balls of Järbo Nova yarn.
You can of course use any yarn you want for this CAL but your cushion cover could of course end up in a different size if you chose a yarn which is completely different than the one I have used.
Finished size: Around 45 x 45 cm (if you use Järbo Nova with a 3 mmm)
Hook size: 3 mm crochet hook.
