In the Yarn Garden CAL - Part 2, rounds 11-19

Materials and colors

For this tutorial I am using the yarn Järbo Nova and a 3.00 mm crochet hook.


Colours used on part 2 rounds:

Round 11 - Natural
Round 12 - Natural
Round 13 - Natural
Round 14 - Yellow
Round 15 - Pistachio green
Round 16 - Lime
Round 17 - Pistachio green
Round 18 - Pistachio green
Round 19 - Khaki green

Abbreviations

US terms used!

Instruction symbols

** – Repeat instructions between asterisks the amount of times specified.
      This repeat will consist of multiple instructions.

() – Instructions inside parentheses are made in the same stitch.

Hint: Hints are written in blue.

Special stitches, part 2

Double crochet 2 together (dc2tog) :Yarn over, insert hook in first st, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through 2 loops. Yarn over, insert in next st, pull up a loop (4 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through 2 loops
(3 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through last 3 loops.


Front post treble crochet  (fptr) :
Yarn over twice {image 1}, insert hook from front to back around post of specified st {image 2}, yarn over and pull up a loop, *yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook*, repeat *to* 3 times {image 3}.

Instructions

Round 11

This round is worked in the back loop only, BLO!

Start in any ch-2 space. Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc) or make a standing sc {image 1}.
Make 1 sc in the same ch-2 space {image 2}.

* Sc in 5 next st's {image 3}, hdc in next st {image 4}, dc2tog in the next 2 sc's (i.e. skip the sl st) {image 5}, hdc in next st, sc in next 5 st's {image 6}, 2 sc in next ch-2 space. *

Repeat from * to * 8 times, omitting the last 2 sc on the last repeat {image 7}.

Join to the beginning ch-1 or standing sc with a sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends {image 8}.

Stitch count: 120 st's, ( 96 sc, 16 hdc, 8 dc2tog).

Round 11

Note! To make it clearer I have used a different colour in the first six images.

Start in any dc2tog. Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) or make a standing dc {image 1}.

Dc in the 2 next st's {image 2}.

* Hdc in the 2 next st's {image 3}, sc in the 6 next st's {image 4}, hdc in the 2 next st's {image 5}, dc in the 5 next st's {image 6}*

Repeat from * to * 8 times, omitting the last 3 dc on the last repeat.

Join to the third st of the beginning ch-3 or to the standing dc with a sl st.
Fasten off and weave in ends {image 7}.

Stitch count: 120 st's, (48 sc, 32 hdc, 40 dc).

Start in any first sc of a 6 sc group. Ch 2 (counts as 1 hdc) or make a standing hdc {image 1}. Hdc in the next st {image 2}.

* Sc in next 2 st's {image 3}, hdc in next 3 st's {image 4}, dc in next 7 st's {image 5}, hdc in next 3 st's {image 6}. *

Repeat from * to * 8 times, omitting the last 2 hdc on the last repeat {image 7}.

Join to the second st of the beginning ch-2 or to the standing hdc with a sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends {image 8}.

Stitch count: 120 st's, (16 sc, 48 hdc, 56 dc).

Round 13

This round is worked in the back loop only, BLO!

Start in any st. Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc) or make a standing sc {image 1}.

Sc in each st around {image 2 and 3}.

Join to the beginning ch-1 or standing sc with a sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends {image 4}.

Stitch count: 120 sc.

Round 14

Start in a sc directly above the long sl st from r10 {image 1}. Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) or make a standing dc {image 1} , ch 1 and dc in the same st {image 2}.

* Dc in next 14 st's {image 3}, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next st {image 4} *

Repeat from * to * 8 times, omitting the (dc, ch 1, dc) on the last repeat.

Join to the third st of the beginning ch-3 or to the standing dc with a sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends {image 5}.

Stitch count: 128 st's, ( 128 dc) and 8 ch-1 spaces.

Round 15

Start in any ch-1 space. Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) or make a standing dc {image 1}.

Make 4 dc in the same ch-1 space {image 2}.

* Sk 1 st, sc in next 5 st's {image 3}, tr in the fl of the st from r13 (placed right above the flower petal tip {image 4 and 5}), sk 1 st, sc in next 2 st's, tr in the same fl st from r13 {image 6}, sk 1 st, sc in next 5 st's {image 7}, sk 1 st, 5 dc in next ch-1 space {image 8}*

Repeat from * to * 8 times, omitting the last 5 dc on the last repeat.

Join to the third st of the beginning ch-3 or to the standing dc with a sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends {image 9}.

Sk 1 st, hdc in 4 next st's {image 5}, sc in 3 next st's {image 6}, fptr around the tr below from round16 {image 7}, sk 1 st, sc in next 3 st's, fptr around the tr below from round16 {image 8}, sk 1 st, sc in next 3 st's, hdc in next 4 st {image 9}. *

Repeat from * to * 8 times, omitting the last hdc on the last repeat.

Join to the second st of the beginning ch-2 or to the standing hdc with a sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends {image 10}.

Stitch count: 176 st's ( 72 sc, 80 hdc, 8 tr, 16 fptr) and 16 ch-1 spaces.
