In the Yarn Garden CAL - Part 3, rounds 20 - 26

Finally it is time for part 3! Before we start I would like to say thank you to my wonderful pattern testers. I would not have managed to finish this project without you. Thank you so very very much Rosita, Malin (@nillams), Elin (@pandagourgh), Victoria (@sewmerlin) and Rachel!

Let's go on with part 3! We are going to continue by making our work round.

Materials and colors

For this tutorial I am using the yarn Järbo Nova and a 3.00 mm crochet hook.


Colors used on part 3 rounds:

Round 20 - Natural
Round 21 - Natural
Round 22 - Yellow
Round 23 - Natural
Round 24 - Natural
Round 25 - Pink
Round 26 - Coral

Abbreviations

US terms used!

Instruction symbols

** – Repeat instructions between asterisks the amount of times specified.
      This repeat will consist of multiple instructions.

() – Instructions inside parentheses are made in the same stitch.

Hint: Hints are written in blue.

Special stitches, part 3

Back post half double crochet  (bphdc) :

Yarn over {image 1}, insert hook from back to front around post of specified st {image 2},
yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook {image 3}.

Instructions

Round 20

This round is worked in the back loop only, BLO!

Start in any ch-1 space directly after a fptr. Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc) or make a standing sc {image 1}.

* Sc in 3 next st's {image 2}, hdc in 3 next st's {image 3}, dc in 9 next st's {image 4}, hdc in 3 next st's, sc in next 3 st's {image 5}, sc in next ch-1 space {image 6}, sc in next st (the blo of the fptr), sc in next ch-1 space {image 7}. *

Repeat from * to * 8 times, omitting the last sc on the last repeat.

Join to the beginning ch-1 or standing sc with a sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends {image 8}.

Stitch count: 192 st's, ( 72 sc, 48 hdc, 72 dc).

Round 20

Note! To make it clearer I have used a different colour in the first six images.

Start in any sc made in a fptr from r19 . Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc) or make a standing sc {image 1}.
Sc in the next st {image 2}.

* Hdc in the 5 next st's {image 3}, dc in the 11 next st's {image 4}, hdc in the 5 next st's {image 5}, sc in the 3 next st's {image 6}*

Repeat from * to * 8 times, omitting the last 2 sc on the last repeat.

Join to the beginning ch-1 or standing sc with a sl st.
Fasten off and weave in ends {image 7}.

Stitch count: 192 st's, (24 sc, 80 hdc, 88 dc).

Note! To make it clearer I have used a different colour in the first six images.

Some of the st's of this round is worked in the back loop only, BLO! Pay attention to the comments!

Start in any first sc of a 3 sc group. Ch 1 (blo!) (counts as 1 sc) or make a standing sc (blo!) {image 1}.
Sc in the next 7 st's (blo!) {image 2}.

* Sk 2 st's, 7 dc in next st {image 3}, sk 2 st's, sc in next st {image 4}, sk 2 st's, 7 dc in next st {image 5}, sk 2 st's, sc in the 13 next st's (blo!) {image 6}. *

Repeat from * to * 8 times, omitting the last 8 sc on the last repeat.

Join to the beginning ch-1 or standing sc with a sl st.
Fasten off and weave in ends {image 7}.

Stitch count: 224 st's, (112 sc, 112 dc).

Round 22

This round is worked in the back loop only (blo), except for the bphdc's of course.

Start in any last sc of 13 just before a 7 dc cluster.
Ch 2 (counts as 1 hdc) or make a standing hdc {image 1}.

* Bphdc around the next 7 dc's {image 2, 3, 4 and 5}, sk 1 st (the sc in between dc clusters), bphdc around the next 7 dc's {image 6}, hdc in 13 next st's {image 71}. *

Repeat from * to * 8 times, omitting the last hdc on the last repeat.

Join to the second st of the beginning ch-2 or to the standing hdc with a sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends {image 8}.

Stitch count: 216 st's, (104 hdc, 112 bphdc).

Round 23

Start in any hdc just before a bphdc. Ch 2 (counts as 1 hdc) or make a standing hdc {image 1}. Hdc in the next 2 st's {image 2}.

* Sc in next 4 st's {image 3}, hdc in next st, dc in next st, hdc in next st {image 4}, sc in next 4 st's {image 5}, hdc in next 16 st's {image 6}.*

Repeat from * to * 8 times, omitting the last 3 hdc on the last repeat.

Join to the second st of the beginning ch-2 or to the standing hdc with a sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends {image 7}.

Stitch count: 216 st's, ( 64 sc, 144 hdc, 8 dc).

Round 24

This round is worked in the back loop only, BLO!

Start in any st. Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) or make a standing dc {image 1}.
Make 1 dc in the same st {image 2}.

* Dc in next 12 st's {image 3}, 2 dc in next st {image 4}, dc in next 13 st's, 2 dc in next st*

Repeat from * to * 8 times, omitting the last 2 dc on the last repeat.

Join to the third st of the beginning ch-3 or to the standing dc with a sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends {image 5}.

Stitch count: 232 st's, (232 dc).

Round 25

Start in any st. Ch 2 (counts as 1 hdc) or make a standing hdc {image 1}.
Make 1 hdc in the same st {image 2}.

* Hdc in next 28 st's {image 3}, 2 hdc in next st {image 4}.*

Repeat from * to * 8 times, omitting the last 2 hdc on the last repeat.

Join to the second st of the beginning ch-2 or to the standing hdc with a sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends {image 5}.

Stitch count: 240 st's (240 hdc).

Round 26
